Pre And Post Care Tips Of Hair Color

Wendy Wayne

Coloring your hair is the latest trend in hair fashion. Some change it to stark red, some to deep brown and some into ravishing burgundies. Some go for coloring their entire hair and some leave it by coloring a handful of strands of hair, which they call highlights. But coloring your hair is not a good thing as it affects the health of hair. That is why one needs to take a bit of extra care while coloring your hair and even after it is done.

There are some best quality hairs colors available in the market but before buying them one needs to know the basic of coloring hair. This is because if you do not know the basics of pre care and post care of a colored hair, then this fashion statement can ruin your hair badly. If you do not want to let this happen, then go for these simple steps.

Follow when you do colors

    • Do not wash your hair at least 2 days before coloring your hair. This will let the natural oil to secrete properly on the scalp and it will help the color to set in properly and will also help the hair roots from getting damaged by the ammonia present in the hair color.
    • After the hair color is done, it needs to get enriched with a hair mask at least once a week. There are many hair mask products available in the market. You can also make a mask at home by mixing eggs, banana and yogurt of same portion and apply it on your hair. Leave it for at least an hour and rinse it off with a mild shampoo to get strong and shiny hair in return.
    • Avoid swimming pools when you have dyed hair. At least use a shower cap when you go for swimming. This is because pools have chlorinated water which can change the color of your hair. Sometimes it may change blonde colors to green, which is not welcome at all.
    • Pick those shampoos and conditioners, which are made for colored hair. Normal shampoos and conditioners will not help. These products are made essentially to protect colored hairs from damage and provide extra nutrition.  It s a good idea to use the same brand when choosing shampoos and conditioners.
    • Go for complete sulphate free shampoos when you have colored your hair. These shampoos are mild and take extra care of hair. This is because colored hair is already chemically affected. More chemicals may harm it more and it may decrease your hair quality.
  • Let your hair dry normally after each wash and then comb it. Wet hairs are easy to break and thus more hair fall can happen. Use a broad toothed comb so that it can separate the strands from root to tip and do not get tangled easily.

There are some best hair color products available in the market but every hair color contains ammonia which is not possible to avoid. So, extra care is mandatory.
