Goa: The Ultimate Destination For River Rafting

Goa is a land which is extremely famous for few things- beaches, churches, water sports, nightlife and tax-free beer! It is an ideal holiday destination where people to come to unwind and relax with friends and family. During the monsoons, people love to visit this place for trying out various water sports like snorkelling, scuba diving, and river rafting. And, during winters, Goa is the most favoured destination for Christmas and Sunburn Festival!

Couples also visit Goa to spend their honeymoon as this place has beautiful landscapes and the beaches will provide you with the most exotic view of sunrise and sunsets. You can also enjoy night parties on the beach by dancing around with people known and unknown over a couple of drinks and delicious sea-food. Although the majority of the people visiting Goa has a huge affinity to try out the water sports adventure rides to feel the rush in their adrenaline. All the activities in Goa are performed with utmost safety and precautions to avoid any form of hazard.

During the monsoon season starting from June to October end, there is a huge rush of tourists visiting Goa. Goa experiences heavy rainfall and the rivers become an ideal destination for river rafting. The rafting trips are conducted in two sessions per day. One is in the morning, starting approximately around 9.30, am and the other one is in the afternoon starting at 2.30 pm approx. You need to pre-book your rafting ride with any organisation like Atlantis that conducts such tour. Do not forget to go through the cancellation policies before booking your trip.

For river rafting, you need to be careful about the instructions given by your leaders. All the trips are roughly for around 10 kilometres where you can cross the second and the third rapid easily without any training. The fourth rapid, however, is only meant for experts. Before you go rafting, make sure you wear comfortable clothes and swimwear, which will not hinder you to climb up in case you slip into the water. Kids below 12 years are not allowed for river rafting in Goa. You should make sure that you do not wear slippers while heading for rafting and if you are pregnant, do not attempt to try this activity. This trip is of 2-3 hours and on booking your tour, a vehicle of the organisation will pick you up and drop you at the destination after the trip.

You can opt for river rafting in Valpoi River in Goa or go for white water rafting in Goa on the Mhadei River. This is a unique experience and is a mandatory option on the bucket list of tourists visiting Goa. This river is 6 kilometres long and comprises clear channels with smaller waves. As a beginner, you can raft through rapid 2 to rapid 4 comfortably. In some places, water might be turbulent, however, with all sorts of safety gears and trained instructors you can have your share of fun without any worries! While rafting through Mhadei, you can find yourself sailing through the white coloured water while observing the beautiful landscape of Goa!
